BRN is independent institutional research on digital assets.
We publish macro analysis, market intelligence, and long-form research on Bitcoin, digital assets, and the structural forces reshaping institutional finance. Our work is read by investment professionals at the world's leading asset managers, hedge funds, and trading firms – and distributed on Bloomberg Terminal and LSEG Workspace.
It's free to read. No paywall. No sales pitch. Just the research.

Who We Write For
BRN is written for institutional allocators, portfolio managers, trading desks, and investment professionals who take digital assets seriously as an asset class — and want research that matches their standard of rigour.
Our readers include:
Asset managers and allocators navigating digital asset exposure across multi-asset portfolios
Hedge funds and proprietary trading desks tracking macro and market structure in crypto markets
Family offices and sovereign wealth funds evaluating digital assets as a long-term allocation
Risk and compliance professionals monitoring the regulatory landscape across jurisdictions
If you work in investment management and digital assets is on your radar — or already in your portfolio — BRN is written for you.
What We Cover
BRN covers the full institutional landscape of digital assets:
Macro & Markets
The intersection of global macro — Fed policy, rates, geopolitical risk, dollar dynamics — with digital asset markets. We track what institutional flows are doing, not what retail sentiment is saying.
Market Structure & Intelligence
Weekly market analysis covering Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the broader digital asset complex. On-chain positioning, liquidity conditions, options flow, and what the data is actually telling you.
Long-Form Research Reports
Two in-depth research reports every month, typically 15–20 pages. Topics span portfolio construction, regulatory developments, emerging protocols, tokenisation, real-world assets (RWA), and thematic macro. Written for readers who want the full picture, not the summary.
Regulatory Intelligence
Practical coverage of the global regulatory environment — MiCA, US digital asset legislation, APAC frameworks — focused on what it means for institutional decision-making.
How We're Different
Most digital assets research comes from one of three places: a bank with a product to sell, an exchange with a vested interest in volume, or a native crypto firm with a retail-facing bias.
BRN is none of those things.
We are independent. We have no exchange to promote, no fund to raise, no token to issue. Our only interest is in getting the analysis right. That means we can call markets and policy as we see them — including when the answer is uncomfortable.
We are also practitioner-grade, not institutional in the bank-research sense. We write for people who are already sophisticated. We don't explain what Bitcoin is. We analyse what it means for a portfolio, a risk book, or an allocation committee presentation.
Our research is distributed on Bloomberg Terminal and Refinitiv/LSEG — the same channels institutional readers already use for fixed income and equity research. Find our content on Bloomberg Terminal and Refinitiv/LSEG alongside your existing research workflow.
Events & Community
BRN brings institutional practitioners together beyond the page.
In 2025, we ran the BRN Alpha Series – five closed-door roundtable events for senior buy-side professionals covering the most pressing questions in institutional digital assets.
Held under Chatham House rules, the series brought together portfolio managers, allocators, and digital asset heads from leading investment firms across the region. We will be announcing our next event series in due course. If you are interested in attending or being kept informed, subscribe to BRN and you will be the first to hear.
Distribution
BRN research is distributed across three channels:
Bloomberg Terminal — via Bloomberg's Research Publisher programme, reaching Bloomberg's global institutional subscriber base directly in the research tab.
LSEG Workspace — via Refinitiv's third-party publisher programme, reaching investment professionals who use LSEG as their primary market data and research platform.
Direct to inbox — free subscribers receive all research directly. New reports, weekly analysis, and market updates delivered as published.
Subscribe – It’s Free
BRN is free to read. We made it free because we would rather have the right people reading it than charge for access.
All research — macro analysis, weekly markets, and long-form reports — is available to subscribers at no cost. All we ask for is your email address.
If you are already reading BRN on Bloomberg or LSEG and would like to receive our research directly — ahead of terminal distribution, and with occasional content we publish only for direct subscribers — subscribing takes less than 30 seconds.
